For our next addition to the Sherwood Custom Shop collection, we have the first arrival from a series of 12 selections -

The series consists of matching 'twin' Stratocasters/Telecasters and Jaguar/Jazzmasters ranging from 1960 to 1965 spec in the same colours, wear packages, woods, and electronic treats.

This 1963 Relic Strat features some subtle custom options that don't stray too far from that year's classic specifications but for the added tone-saver treble bleed, which once discovered, is hard to go without. This addition keeps the crystalline sparkle of the three hand-wound Josephina pickups well intact as the volume control is adjusted, perfectly balancing any class A amplifier on a knife-edge of overdrive with consistent response.

The 1/4 sawn maple neck has a beautiful taper that really fills out towards the heel, and the AAA 9MM rosewood features vintage-style 7.25" radius frets. The fingerboard has been meticulously rounded to feel well-loved and gentle in the hand.

The alder body in custom Torino Red is slightly more radiant than Dakota Red and has been sorted for light-weight. It's balanced beautifully with the neck and stays evenly on the shoulder without shifting.

This one-off Stratocaster is truly a work of art and as good as it gets for a vintage-type Fender.
